Hacienda life in the Yucatan

Visiting Mayan ruins

For over 20 years my husband and I have been talking about moving to the Yucatan peninsula one day. It has been a place we have loved visiting over the years and always felt very much at home here. This year as empty nesters and since remote work is the norm now since the pandemic, we decided to make it happen.

April of 2023, we moved with our three horses and three dogs to a small town outside of Merida.  After several months we are mostly unpacked and settled. I am now at a point where I have time to work on setting up my craft room properly so I can get back to making miniatures again :)

Craft room to be

I had to sell my beautiful La Maison Tordue - it was just too big and I was worried that it would be damaged in the move. It is now with its lovely new owner in Indiana and will be put on display in her soon to be miniature museum that she is working on.

I brought my almost finished Art Nouveau house and as expected it did suffer some damage in the move and I haven't quite worked up the strength of will to make repairs and finish it off yet.

My first project is going to be a new and improved version of La Maison Tordue - I miss my pride and joy and no other mini project is sparking as much interest for me.

So stay tuned I will start posting progress on this major build soon :)
