2nd Floor Hallway

I continued with the same color palette for the second floor hall but decided to add a stair runner – no one wants to have footsteps banging around while having a nice dinner, right?

I also added some swirling wall decorations in the same green I used in the lower floor. I was inspired again by Horta hallways. IN this case I crested my swirls in Illustrator and cut them out of thin MDF which I painted with acrylic markers before glueing in place.

I continued the same moulding in green on the undersides of the stairs, same bannister style but I added a mural on the tall back wall and a chandelier. The mural is the cover of an old Ladies Home Journal that I color adjusted and reversed to suit my needs. I used Modge Podge to seal it and give it some shine.

I am so happy with the hallways but they are going to be tricky to see now the walls are in – particularly all the effort I made on the ceilings and lights – so good job I took a few photos first LOL
