Lady Anastasia
I typically don’t care for dolls and had no plans to put one in the house TBH But slowly but surely I felt like the lady of the house needed to exist and not just in my mind, so I searched online for the right doll and honestly couldn’t find what I wanted for a reasonable cost.
Well nothing for it but to try my hand at making my own. I was shocked how much I enjoyed doing it LOL I bought a tutorial online from a lady who makes beautiful dolls with porcelain faces and arms but that seemed a bit daunting so I search for a mini woman online and found this one on Amazon and ebay.
She arrived naked as a jaybird but I liked her pretty face. I partly followed the tutorial and partly made it up as I went. I was really happy with her dress especially the train with all the little silk flowers
The only sewing was creating the ruffle but honestly you can do that with glue and clamps too. In fact I am pretty sure there is nothing that cant be done when you have glue and clamps LOL
I used duponi silk for the gown, black velvet ribbon, white lace trim, silk flowers, tiny pearls and a couple of feathers and that was it
Unfortunately I have no WIP pictures of her hair – to be honest there was no way to let go of all the curls I was twisting by hand until they were in place. I needed a second pair of hands to hold the camera. I just hid any glue spots with a silk flower or a pearl
I glued the shoes directly onto her feet which handily snapped off to let me get at them properly. I originally tried sculpting the heels from clay but that didn’t work well for me so I went back to trusty card stock and built the heel with layers
I just loved how she turned out and cant wait to work on another one or maybe two for my new dollhouse project LOL
