Bistro

Next to the Laduree I decided a traditional French bistro was the way to go – is there anything better than sitting at an intimate bistro eating delicious french food having some wine and watching the world go by? Its hard to beat. There is a lovely bistro close to my office in Paris called Le Sens Unique with amazing food and I based this very, very loosely on that.

I started with the back wall and made faux bricks from a sheet of PVC foam that I used a ruler and a blunt pencil to make the lines, which I then painted. I covered the mat board shelves, beams and counter in some wood veneer I had in my stash

The lighting was super simple I made cones from card and placed them over the glass beads. See material list

The really fun part was adding the wine and glasses and dressing the bar with meals that the patrons had to step away from for just a minute…

I painted the facade black and for some reason decided to make my life difficult by making lattice windows LOL It was worth it in the end. I may have to make a full size bistro some time because we are missing all the cute tables on the street.
