Blue Bedroom
This room was unplanned. I made a chaise that I loved based on a tutorial from one inch minis and that really set me off on what could be accomplished with card stock at the very beginning – then I had nowhere for it to be – so it sat on my Shelf of Waiting for about 9 months or so LOL
I pulled together a blue palette from my stash. I didn’t end up using all those materials but t was the starting point and I like to make sure everything harmonizes, especially when mixing prints an colors before I start a roomone-inch
I was going to make a ladies maid’s bed but I made it way too fancy for that so I decided that Lady Anastasia has a good friend or perhaps younger sister that she looks after. So that become the blue bedroom, complete with the gown for the evening’s ball and her jewelry case open on the bed. She is late getting ready as usual LOL
I epoxied the walls in place with a nice silver blue fabric from my stash. I pulled the chaise from the Shelf of Waiting and made a bed to match it.
I had a ton of fun making an armoire and writing desk with decoupage roses on it. I figured she was a little younger and less sophisticated than the lady of the house. So I wanted a sweeter look
I bought a little jewelry case online and used the leftover royal blue dress that I didn’t have room for in the closet. I thought perhaps she needed a ballgown for the party
Finally I made some sweet little sconces from a flower shaped bead, a tiny oval mirror, some random jewelry findings and glass beads. I think it is such a cute little room. And the chaise finally had a home
