Art Nouveau House Room by Room
Believe it or not this will be a house at some point LOL
I am so enjoying playing with my new laser cutter that I keep getting ahead of myself and building furniture when I really should be focused on creating the walls and structure!
Oh well, my project, my pace ๐ After feeling stuck on getting construction of the actual house done, I made some big progress recently.
For some reason I struggled finishing the kitchen, I was so busy working on furniture for the rest of the house that the kitchen got no love for a long time. But as all the shelves filled up with furniture with no where to go, I buckled down and got he kitchen complete and wired so I could move on. (More dressing and staging to be done but structurally complete)
Finally I could work on the ground floor and as you can see, got past some big milestones. Some walls are going in, all the floors are done and the foyer is just about complete. I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Everything takes so much longer because I am obsessing about all the design details. Art Nouveau has always been a love of mine and this house is what I would want to live in if I could buy an Art Nouveau home.
I would never have tackled this until I splurged on my laser cutter, but the time it takes me to create the designs in Illustrator is not insignificant. I spend days and sometimes weeks on the design before being able to send to the laser. Then all the construction time and making adjustments because things arenโt quite right LOL.
I will start posting more about each room soon and tutorials on some of the projects I am tackling as part of this build
